We are tackling bathrooms for the first week of the 8 Week Cleaning Challenge, so I created a round-up of all my favorite bathroom cleaning hacks and recipes so you have them all in one spot. Happy Cleaning!

Best Bathroom Cleaning Hacks & Recipes: Floors
DIY Floor Cleaner
I have tried several different DIY Floor Cleaner recipes in my life, and I finally found one that tackles even the grossest of floors (like the one pictured below). This homemade floor cleaner does an amazing job and it doesn’t require much effort to wipe away the grime.
DIY Grout Cleaner
Have you ever tried a cleaning hack and thought, “I don’t think this is actually going to work.” Then you try it and the results are incredible? That’s what happened with this grout cleaning hack. A simple combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide made our bathroom grout look like new.
Best Way to Clean Bathroom Counters
DIY All Purpose Spray
Whether you have stone or laminate counters in your bathroom, this all purpose cleaner recipe is perfect since it can be made with or without vinegar.
Best Bathroom Cleaning Hacks & Recipes: Toilets
DIY Toilet Bowl Cleaner
When my youngest was about 4, he drank out of our toilet… I know… So gross! It was at that time I realized, had I had toilet bowl cleaner in the toilet, my child could have had some issues, so I started to clean our toilets with vinegar and baking soda (not together!)
DIY Cleaning Wipes
I use these DIY Cleaning Wipes to clean the toilet handle, seat, and lid. They also work great for light switches and faucets.
How to Naturally Remove Toilet Stains
We had a toilet in our basement that was hardly ever used. Over time it got these awful stains. I truly thought it was hopeless. (I mean, look at those stains!) I grabbed the only tool I’ve ever used to clean toilet stains and look at those results!
Freshen Toilets with DIY Toilet Bombs
If you want to quickly freshen toilets between cleanings, these DIY Toilet Bombs are perfect. Simply drop one or two in the toilet bowl and let them fizz for 15-20 minutes. Quickly scrub the toilet with a toilet brush and flush.
Best Bathroom Cleaning Hacks & Recipes: Showers
DIY Tub & Shower Cleaner
You can make you own shower cleaner with a simple combination of Sal Suds (or dish soap) and vinegar.
Best Cleaning Hack for Cleaning A Shower Head
This is truly one of my favorite cleaning hacks. It is obvious I don’t look up at our shower head very often (as you can tell from how disgusting it was). Our shower head was full of hard water stains and iron build-up… Yuck! Luckily, just need one pantry staple completely cleaned it up… with hardly any scrubbing.
Best Cleaning Hack to Remove Rust Stains in the Shower
As you can tell by our shower head, we have really hard water with lots of iron. This abundance of iron also creates stains on our shower walls. I tried everything to remove those rust stains; and just when I was about to give up, I remembered one item I had in my cleaning caddy… and it worked like a charm!
Naturally Freshen Bathrooms with These DIY Recipes
Since bathrooms are known for having unpleasant smells from time to time, here’s a couple ways to naturally freshen bathrooms using essential oils… or coffee!
DIY Room Spray
I absolutely love this DIY Room Spray recipe. It’s easy to make and it works! You can also customize this room spray to create any scent you enjoy.
DIY Air Freshener
This homemade air freshener could not be easier to make. You can choose to use baking soda and essential oil… or fresh ground coffee.
Naturally Freshen Bathroom Linens
If your bathroom towels are starting to smell a little funky (like mildew), you can easily freshen them with a few ingredients from your kitchen!
Best Product for Cleaning Bathroom Mirrors
This cloth combination is my favorite product for cleaning bathroom mirrors. All you need is water to get a streak-free shine.
The image below (and the link above) are Norwex brand. The best way to buy Norwex is through a consultant (I am not one). There are also quite a few knock-off brands on Amazon, however, I’m not sure if they work as well.
Good luck tackling your bathrooms this week… or anytime.

Wonderful! I love DIY cleaners. Typically they are less expensive than store bought versions, and I like knowing exactly what is in each one.
